& Other Stories Face Contour Cream

& Other stories is a brand that is part of the H&M group and they have just opened their first store in the UK at 256-258 Regent Street. The shop is beautiful and sells all sorts of things, such as jewellery, clothes, accessories and their own line of makeup and skincare products. I managed to restrain myself and just pick up one product that I was intrigued by...

It is called Face Contour Cream. The only product I currently use for contouring is a MAC blusher in the shade 'Harmony', which I literally use every day and LOVE. However, as it's a powder I was looking at trying a cream contour product so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. There is only one shade 'Beige Dark' and to me the colour looked terrifyingly dark but with a lot of experimentation I realised it works a lot better if you put it on before foundation. I put it in a line down the bit of my cheek that needed to look more hollow, at the top my forehead up to my hairline and a little bit around my jaw line. I then use my foundation to buff it all and blend it in and as its's a cream form contour it all blends in really well. I use Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, which I love! You just have to make sure you blend, blend, blend or you'll look like you've popped out in to the garden, picked up some mud and streaked it across the hollows of your cheeks (whatever floats your boat). As I mentioned in one of my previous posts I think it's really important to add some extra dimension into your face around Autumn and Winter as we tend to use heavier foundations and you don't want to face to look all one colour, which leaves you looking flat lacking definition. The cream is a matte brown and does mimic a natural shadow colour. I usually draw a line where I want the hollow of my cheek to stand out and then I blend up, you can always build the product up if you don't have enough but it is much harder to take some off when you apply too much! After I have blended in my contour colour and my highlighter with my foundation I go over the contoured areas with MAC's harmony, I feel like using a cream underneath with a powder over the top will mean your contour will last a lot longer.

I really like this product and & Other Stories have worked hard to make it work with a wide range of skin tones, I think I could build it up a little bit more in Summer when I'm tanned and team with a lighter moisturising foundation. If you fancy trying it you can buy it online for £10 here or of course you can pop into the lovely new shop!

Have you been in the new store?
What did you think?
Have you tried any other good contouring products?

I'd love to hear your comments!
